The Air Force base was celebrating family day for the servicemen and women. This gift from Sucré was our way of saying thank you for everything they do and sacrifice for us. As Tariq says, “They do what they do to allow us to be free to do what we do.” He especially wants to give thanks to Col. Roy V. Qualls, Commander, 159th Fighter Wing for such an amazing visit.

]]> http://www.shopsucre.com/sweettalk/and-the-winner-is/feed 0 Wedded Bliss http://www.shopsucre.com/sweettalk/wedded-bliss http://www.shopsucre.com/sweettalk/wedded-bliss#comments Tue, 04 Aug 2009 21:04:20 +0000 admin http://alpha.cfcdi.org/shopsucre/sweettalk/?p=567 Last Wednesday, Sucré hosted our Summer Wedding Event at the shop, where customers received complimentary champagne and the chance to taste several delectable flavors of our wedding cake.  The cake flavors included everything from Vanilla Gateau with Toasted Almond Buttercream to Chocolate Gateau with Peanut Butter & Jelly.  We also showcased a number of Tariq’s new wedding cake designs, including a Double Cheeseburger with fries and a drink that absolutely floored me.  Just looking at the cake made my mouth water…not for cake, but for a juicy cheeseburger…it was trippy.  Anyway, the event was a blast, and we want to thank everybody that came by; we hope you enjoyed it as well.

1 gallon water
5 cups sugar
5 cups lemon juice
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 lemons, halved and squeezed

Bring water and sugar to a boil. Let cool, add rest of ingredients.  Serve with ice, sliced lemon.  Enjoy your refreshing, homemade beverage!

Ultimate Cake Off will be airing as a sneak-peek on August 3,
and then continuing on August 31. Each of the series eight
episodes pits three different bakers against each other
as they construct edible masterpieces in hopes of winning
$10,000 and have their cakes featured at a marquee
event. With only nine hours, these competitors must make
cakes that are at least five feet tall and are creative
enough to win the taste of the client and the ultimate prize.  So tune in next Monday at 10PM/9PM C to watch Tariq compete in the prime-time food fight!
