
All of us here at Sucré would like to offer a big congratulation to Tariq for winning a Golden Scoop Award for best bakery recipe! After being publically nominated for the competition, Tariq chose to enter both the best bakery and best confection categories. His recipe for Cherry Cheese Feuille de Brioche, a cross between a Danish and brioche, was picked as a finalist in the best bakery category along with four other recipes. A panel of judges then tasted and critiqued the submissions before deciding the winner. In the end, Tariq’s breakfast pastry was named as PastryScoop.com’s Best Bakery Recipe of 2009. Along with this honor, Tariq and the other category winners received a number of prizes, including a personalized golden scoop, a jacket patch, 100 pounds of chocolate, and a feature spot in Food Arts magazine. To see a list of the other winners and their recipes, as well as other finalists and pictures, visit www.pastryscoop.com.
