Sucré delivers authentic artisan treats from New Orleans to the world

Sucré (French for sugar) is an emporium of "artisan" sweets born from the vision of New Orleans restauranteur Joel Dondis. On a quest to better understand the art of pastry‐making and fine chocolates throughout Europe, Dondis found inspiration in Paris. Bringing French heritage from the days where decadence ruled to New Orleans, and at the same time introducing a sophisticated and innovative restaurant to meet the needs of the progressive and mature palates of the new New Orleanian – the concept for Sucré was born.

Sucré’s fate was further solidified as renowned pastry chef Tariq Hanna agreed to bring his creative force to the menu.

Sucré opened its doors to a breathtaking shop on Magazine Street in New Orleans bringing an assortment of decadent pastries, one‐of‐a‐kind chocolates, rich gelatos and rack‐brewed coffee.

As you step into Sucré and beyond the sweets are found in rows and rows in the chocolate cases or in beautiful packages for delivery adorned with Sucré New Orleans. Yes, that’s Sucré New Orleans. New Orleans has a name caché and when people see the name, they know we’re a serious food city.

Unlike a traditional bakery, Sucré serves plated desserts with custom garnishes in addition to boxed sweets. Sucré New Orleans serves, coffees, teas, chocolait drinks and shakes to compliment their artisan sweets and confections.

Wanting to share mouthwatering creations such as French macaroons, gourmet chocolates and Sucré bark, Sucré took the next step and opened an online store.

Bring back the kid in you and come in to see what we have to offer, in person or online. Unlike when you were a child, now there is no one to tell you what you can't have.
